Across 1.2 at 10:25 UTC by px
The new 1.2 version of the game is ready. Some new levels and a level editor were added, otherwise it is almost identical to the previous versions.
The shareware version has 16 levels instead of the 8 levels of the previous versions. The first 8 levels are identical to the 8 levels of the original shareware levels, 4 levels come from the previous registered version and 4 levels are brand new. In the shareware version the level editor has severe limitations, you can only edit very simple levels with it. Download the
shareware version.
The full, registered version has 42 levels instead of the 24 levels of the previous version. The first 16 levels are identical to the levels of the shareware version. The editor of the full version is the same as the shareware editor, but you can edit much more complicated levels with it. The registration cost is US $29.95. You can
register here.
The system requirements have increased a little:
- 486DX 33-Mhz or faster processor (66-Mhz is highly recommended)
- 12 Megabytes of free memory
- DOS 5.0 or higher, VGA graphics (SVGA for the editor)
- For SVGA graphics you need a VESA 1.2 compliant graphics card
- For sound you need a Sound Blaster card
- A mouse

Hm, looks like the year of this news should be 1998. No idea where this news comes but Across 1.2 was published in 1998-03-23 and px's old green page was published in 1998-04-26.
